"Dom Quixote de Lugar Nenhum"

So this is the name of the play I went to watch last night.
All I had to do was to print a flyer I received from Alianca Francesa
- my French language school - hehehe... ^^
and take it to the ticket booth of the Teatro Sergio Cardoso.
I got a really good discount... from R$40 to R$15!!

Dom Quixote de Lugar Nenhum is by Ruy Guerra.
It is a musical comedy about a man
who meanders through the desert of the Northeast of Brazil
in search of his never-seen muse - Dulcineia,
a dragon and the justice in the world!
It's an adaptation of Don Quijote de la Mancha
by the famous Spanish writer Miguel de Cervantes.

I guess being an 'apprentice' of the French language...
... there are some advantages! Hehehe~
Well, I invited my friend from the course... Milane.
Elle est tres amusante et tres sympatique!
After the play we went to an Italian neighbourhood called Bixiga
and had a nice pizza dinner. It was great!

PEDRINHO HOT-DOG

Maira, a good friend of mine - from work,
had promissed to take me
to the BEST hot-dog place here in Sao Paulo...
and cuz it'd been about 4 years since I last had a hot-dog,
I'd been craving for hot-dog for the last week or so
(since she mentioned taking me to this Pedrdinho's)
Well, today was the day!!! It was a lovely afternoon.
... it had stopped raining and the sun was out ...
Off we hit the famous walkways of the Sao Paulo downtown!
* the hot-dog was superb *

Happy Halloween??

... I personally don't like Halloween ...
just don't really have the 'good vibes' for it.
Celebrating the dead is just not my kind of thing
That's just wrong!!
But I had to decorate one of the boards
in school with my students.
Here it is... it turned out quite interesing.

PIAF - Um Hino ao Amor

It's been two months that I've started with French classes.
Yeah, yeah... I'm only a beginner, but hey... you know what!!
I went to watch La Môme/La Vie En Rose / PIAF
and I understood everything!!! Yuhuuuuu~~~
ok ... it had subtitles. ^^ Mas foi lindo!

The movie is about Edith Giovanna Gassion,
- mostly known as Edith Piaf -
and her life as a child, a lover, a mother, and a singer in the 1900's.
It's an amazing and tragic story... worth watching!

I'm sure you've heard some of her famous songs

My favourite? Hmmm...
Hymne A L'amour (Hymn To Love)

Le ciel bleu sur nous peut s'effondrer,
Et la terre peut bien s'écrouler,
Peu m'importe si tu m'aimes,
Je me fous du monde entier.

Tant qu' l'amour innondera mes matins,
Tant qu'mon corps frémira sous tes mains,
Peu m'importent les problèmes,
Mon amour, puisque tu m'aimes.

Mon amour, crois-tu qu'on s'aime?

Dieu réunit ceux qui s'aiment.

Oh, you don't understand the lyrics?! @.@
Hahaha... you should consider taking some French classes!!

Buenos Aires

It was the most amazing little trip I've had lately.
Took the 'long weekend' and off I went to visit the hermanos.
The first day was rainy, but nothing could stop me
from looking around this amazing city!

On the second day, I was even more excited
cuz I was gonna go around town with the tour guide and all...
... unfortunatelly, it didn't really turn out that way.
When we got to La Boca (Caminito), I got a little too carried away
with all the distractions that I lost track of time and
missed my bus ... and they all left without me! >.< Puerto Madero.

So, I finished off my own tour of Buenos Aires for the day
and came back to the lovely hotel. I had to get myself ready for the
GRANDIOSO night ... TANGO SHOW!! Yuhuuu...
I went to El Querandi where I met really fun people.
The show was really interesting
... showing the history of Tango in Argentina!
(El Arrabal / El Cabaret / La Milonga / El Modernismo)

Well, on the third day I went to two more barrios
for more sightseeing! (San Telmo and Recoleta)

There was just sooooo much to see
... not enough time in three days!
Don't cry for me Argentina!!
I'll come back!! ^^
